This post is about Ava and her friend Kyla. Kyla's mom watches Ava twice a week.I have never thought it was possible for two young toddlers to become such good friends. They have proved me wrong. I am amazed at how much they care for each other. Ava has other friends and will talk about them and plays well with them, but it is nothing like the stories I see and hear about Kyla and her.
When I am taking Ava to Kyla's, I have to wait to tell her that we are going until we are ready to go or else she will have a tantrum because she wants to see her friend. When ever we leave she usually mentions something about Kyla if we haven't specified where we are going.
What Are Friends For?
When one of them has to go to time out the other goes and sits in time out with her.
At church they look for each other and have to say hi, even if we are a few rows away from the other. We (Mindy and I) are tempted to sit together during sacrament so they don't talk loudly to the other one. Once sacrament is over they find each other, hug, grab hands and walk to nursery together.
When one gets hurt they like to comfort each other. Today Ava got hurt and was asking for Kyla. They both ended up cuddling with Mindy.
Last week I was packing Ava's snacks and she informed that Kyla also needed some cheese. It was super cute.
They have tea parties, play catch and dance to Elmo together. Kyla was the one that introduced Ava to Elmo. They do lots of other things together I am just not around for.
Kyla will sometimes give Ava the food she doesn't want to Ava so she can have a treat. I thought this was so funny when Mindy told me.
They sometimes have a hard time sharing, but it gets worked out.
They played in the mud and needed a bath.
Ava doesn't like her picture taken or at least she is done smiling by time the camera takes one.
We have also become friends with Kyla's parents. We sure are going to miss them when they move to Montana. They should stay here.
