Week One of Changes.

This week was tough!

It is very difficult to break a habit. The habit I am referring to is my addiction to Mountain Dew. I love this stuff and drink more daily then I should. I think I drink it more out of habit now then for the taste. I have tried cutting back and was successful some days and not others. Then again it has only been a week. This is still a work in progress.....

I hit the gym for the first time in months last Wednesday. I ran/ walked for a mile and then hit the circuit training room. It felt really good to be working out. I was tired the whole time and had to keep reminding myself  why I was there. It was defiantly a good wake up call. The next day my body ached everywhere.

The other days this week, I have just done workouts at home using my Zumba DVD and Wii Active game.I hoping to establish a set time to working out and really hope I can use the gym more.

I am really lucky because my complex has a gym (that is really crapy). I am even luckier that i can use the gym on base. They have the newest equipment. Which is great. The downfalls of using either have these gyms is that they don't have a daycare. Which limits when I can go.. Also working out in a gym full of military people can be discouraging. I am trying to look at that in a positive way.

Overall I happy that I am working on making the changes and am recognizing what my weaknesses may be as well as mini road blocks. I think it boils down to wanting to change and having a desire to do so before you can achieve anything.  I will report this weeks progress next Monday..

  1. I work out in our crappy apartment gym too. I'm too intimidated to go to the one on base too.
