The Blessing of Prayer

One of the most stressful things for me is finding a sitter for Ava. We have been very blessed to not have to put her in day care. Thanks to some very wonderful ladies that have helped me out. Every time a new semester is about ready to start I go through the stress of who is going to watch her and feel bad for asking the same ladies over and over again. I thought I had it figured out this semester and would only need someone on Mondays and Wednesdays. Well it didn't turn out that way, I was working at my internship at night. It really sucked because i missed bedtime every night. I love putting Ava down, it is a wonderful feeling to cuddle and read stories to her.  (we save the singing for Bryce). I missed it so much.
A few weeks into the semester my supervisor said i would have to start working some days. So I found a sitter for Friday's and had the hardest time finding one for Thursdays. It was also getting very frustrating so I stopped asking around and hoped that one of my two sitters would be able to do it. I felt bad, but just felt defeated.
Last week after meeting with my supervisor, she told me which case worker she wanted me to work with and that I would be helping with this case workers groups.. Great I thought... she has one group on Tuesday's from 4:00pm to 5:30. I have class at 5:30 in Ogden. So I spoke with my professor about being late to class. I now needed a sitter on Tuesdays and Thursdays... just my luck. I was really negative about it and Bryce and I decided her would just use his time off and sick leave for Tuesdays and Thursdays.
This past weekend was general conference. Ava kept us busy for most of it and I had a hard time focusing on it because of the beautiful distraction. One of the talks I did hear was about pray and asking and then getting answers. When I got home, I prayed about finding a sitter on the days needed and told heavenly father how much it stressed me out.
Tonight Ava really wanted to go outside and I told her no because I was making dinner and then she said please. Dinner could wait, I took her out. As we were out there I started talking with another mom in our ward and had the distinct impression to ask.. I was hesitant. but finally got the courage to do so. She said she was hoping for a babysitting opportunity to come along.... One less thing to worry about.

  1. Prayer really is the most amazing thing. So many wonderful blessings come from heartfelt, faithful communication between Heavenly Father, and it's such a great feeling of comfort when those prayers are answered!
