This past weekend was "exciting" for us. We went to an ugly sweater Christmas party and picked up my little sister and came home to Layton. On Saturday we had plans to travel to Logan and attend a session at the temple ( Bryce's cousin Natalie was going through for the first time) . One of our good friends was going to be watching Ava and Charmaine. Well as we got ready and left we had a few things happen that slowed us down. The biggest thing being the snow, I was slightly grumpy due to a lack of sleep and traveling in nasty weather.
As we turned off I-15 and crossed the bridge heading towards Brigham City. We hit a sheet of Ice and Bryce lost control of the car. The on coming car was a semi and as we spun, I saw my life flash before my eyes. We missed the semi and continued to spin and I yelled to my little sister to hold on. This was all in slow motion, all i could thing about was my baby and little sister in the backseat and prayed like I have never prayed before. It honestly was the scariest moment of my life, knowing there was nothing I could do for anyone in the car. When the guard rail on the over pass stopped us, head on.
None of us were hurt, the air bags didn't come out. Ava once again proved to be our beautiful daughter by giggling when we stopped. Apparently she thought it was a fun ride. (It was not) The car behind us happened to some friends from our ward, I was so grateful to see them. the front of our car has a few dents but we were able to continue on our journey and made it to the temple with eight minutes to spare.
I am so grateful we were as lucky as we were. We were truly blessed and as we drove through the canyon, I started to cry. We were so lucky and my being grumpy seemed like nothing.
Sounds like a personal testimony that Heavenly Father watches over His children and keeps them safe!
